L’Antiporta e le sedici tavole sono incise da Briot sui disegni di Crispin de Passe. Le tavole, incise nel verso delle pagine stampate, contengono per lo più scene entro medaglioni numerati, alcune ripartite anche in otto figure. L’apprezzata traduzione di Jean de Montlyard, apparsa la prima volta nel 1602, è stata ritoccata dall’editore. Esemplare in magnifica legatura alle Armi di David-Pierre Perrinet, seigneur du Pezeau, curatore generale delle finanze per le Fiandre, l'Hainaut e l'Artois dal 1729 al 1758: stemma sormontato da corona comitale, con in capo una colomba che tiene nel becco un ramo d’ulivo, in base un serpente strisciante. Beautiful illustrated edition. The Frontispiece and the sixteen plates are engraved by Briot on the drawings of Crispin de Passe. The plates, engraved on the reverse of the printed pages, mostly contain scenes within numbered medallions, some also divided into eight figures. Jean de Montlyard's popular translation, which first appeared in 1602, has been retouched by the publisher. Copy in magnificent binding to the Arms of David-Pierre Perrinet, seigneur du Pezeau, general curator of finance for Flanders, Hainaut and Artois from 1729 to 1758: Coat of arms surmounted by a count's crown, with a dove at the top holding an olive branch in its beak, at the bottom a crawling snake.
