Seguono 117 tavole incise in rame su doppia pagina: 110 carte geografiche e 7 tavole con diverse raffigurazioni relative alla geografia, tutte in brillante coloritura coeva, tranne l’ultima. Sporadiche macchie, piccolo restauro al frontespizio, minimi difetti. Tracce d’uso alla legatura, bell’esemplare.Bellissima edizione di questo imponente atlante in splendida coloritura coeva contenente le carte del mondo e dei continenti, carte celesti, oltre a quelle dei paesi europei ed extra, rose dei venti, bandiere, vedute di navi e una tavola militare. L’opera è dedicata a Carlo VI. Georg Matthäus Seutter fu uno dei più importanti e prolifici editori cartografici tedeschi del 18° secolo e fu nominato geografo imperiale. Condition
Large Folio, 540x340 mm. Contemporary full leather binding with title on the spine. Allegorical Frontispiece in contemporaty hand coloring, Titel-page in red and black, Dedication to Emperor Charles VI, 2 sheets of text, Index of the maps for sale by Seutter, another dedication to Charles VI engraved in copper on double page, in original color. Followed by 117 plates engraved on copper on a double page: 110 geographical maps and 7 plates with different representations relating to geography, all in brilliant coeval coloring, except the last one. The atlas is generally in fine condition and brilliant colouring, with minor defects: two restoration at titlepage, maps contemporary numbered and described on verso in ink and in upper right corner in pencil. Some spotting in places, mainly to margins. Traces of wear to the binding, good specimen.
