Vesalio ha lavorato a stretto contatto con gli artisti veneziani che hanno illustrato i De Fabrica. Sebbene i singoli artisti non siano noti, le xilografie sono ora attribuite allo studio di Titano.Al completamento dei blocchi di legno per l'incisione, Vesalio li inviò al famoso tipografo Joannes Oporinus a Basilea, in Svizzera. Lo stesso Oporinus era uno studioso ei suoi testi pubblicati erano privi di errori. Vesalio si recò a Basilea nel 1543 e rimase per supervisionare personalmente la pubblicazione.Il volume è organizzato in sette "libri" o capitoli, ciascuno incentrato su un aspetto del corpo umano. Anastatic reprint of the first edition of Basel, Ex officina Ioannis Oporini, 1543. The work contains the famous figures that illustrate the anatomy of the human body.Vesalius worked closely with the Venetian artists who illustrated the De Fabrica. Although the individual artists are not known, the woodcuts are now attributed to the studio of Titan. Upon completion of the wood blocks for engraving, Vesalius sent them to the renowned printer Joannes Oporinus in Basel, Switzerland. Oporinus himself was a scholar and his published texts were free from errors. Vesalius traveled to Basel in 1543 and stayed to personally oversee the publication. The volume itself is arranged in seven "books" or chapters, each focusing on one aspect of the human body. It did not follow the normal progression of the medieval anatomies, but began with the bones, which Vesalius felt to be the beginning of any study of anatomy.
