(4pcs) Two Akha beaded women's headdresses or "U-Coe," with stands, U-Coe are worn by Akha women for special occasions, the first composed of a textile cap embellished with large nickel silver beads and domed half beads, glass bead strands, Edward VII rupees, Thai baht, MOP buttons, yarn tassels, and a pressed tin back piece; the second of Ulo-Akha origin, having a natural and polychrome wicker cap embellished with half dome nickel silver beads, glass bead strands, seed strands, yarn tassels and carved bone. The Akha are a Tibeto-Burmese people living in southern China, northern Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, and eastern India. Provenance: From the Private Collection of Veronica Holmes, Atlanta, Georgia. Approx h. 25", w. 11', d. 7". Tallest stand: h. 41", sq. 7".

Overall good; some loose half dome beads, wear to the wicker of the second piece.
