Description
American, 1912, wooden Folk/Tramp Art wedding shadow box, having pyramidical and silver painted foliate decoration, surmounted by a cross, the pediment with "1912/JAN.13.IKAN", "BJ" and ""HA" to corners, and containing a Kovacs Studio wedding portrait, faux myrtle wedding wreath and veil, apparently unmarked. Note: Kovacs was a popular photography studio for the Hungarian immigrant and Hungarian-American community in Bridgeport, CT. Approx. h. 21.5", w. 15.25", d. 4.5".
Condition
Some chips with area of loss lower left corner, some loose or missing elements to wreath, toning to photograph, case is structurally sound.
