A Group of Indian Art Works
19th century or earlier, includes a painting of Krishna being admired by four kneeling royal figures, below is a river with disembodied figures, below this are two figures with one being whipped by the other, inscription in white to upper left corner and lower right side, framed with dark celadon green fabric mat under glass, not examined outside of the frame, and a frame containing three circular playing cards from a Ganjifa set, a game popular during the Mughal period in India, the playing cards depicting images from popular Hindu stories, framed with fabric mat under glass, not examined outside of the frame, and a small brass head of a deity framed on fabric mat without cover.
All purchased in India during the 1960s.
Largest: frame dimensions 15 3/8 x 12 7/8 in.

Condition
Some creases, lower right corner has repair to paper, surface wear and some discoloration to border and kneeling archers, pigments are vibrant and stable; brass head with some discoloration and wear; dirt and dust to crevices.
