Very important map shows Texas as it first joined the union with a larger size then it is now, with Santa Fe and Albuquerque within its territory. As far north as the ‘green mountains’. Shows a trail from Independence to Santa Fe. First map to name Dallas. Shows a unorganized Bexar region. Areas above is named ‘wild horses’. Native tribes named. A very interesting map from a pivotal era in Texas history. 1846 by Samuel Augustus Mitchell, from ‘Mitchell's. School Atlas', published in Philadelphia, hand colored engraved, light soiling and toning and minor foxing. otherwise in good condition. Authenticity Guaranteed.
