Description
A group of three Chinese famille rose porcelain scholar's items shaped like fruits and vegetables dating from the 19th century. The first item is a green pumpkin water coupe carved with bats and a Chilong. It is marked "CHINA" on the bottom. The second item is a red hulu gourd brush washer carved with vines. It is glazed turquoise on the interior. The third item is a green and red pomegranate water coupe with carved vines. The bottom is marked "CHINA," and the interior is glazed turquoise.
Dimensions are: the largest pumpkin item measures 1 1/2 inches tall X 3 1/2 inches wide, 3.8 cm X 8.9 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: All three items are in overall good condition. The pumpkin water coupe has firing cracks.
Provenance: From Mr. Burns in Palm Springs, California. Most of the items were acquired in New York City over 30 years ago.
