While the original (1933-34) Mickey Mouse watches proved a cultural phenomenon and their success in record sales kept Disney in business with cash flow in the 30s, the company also introduced The Donald Duck Watch in 1935. It proved immediately a poor seller therefore very few were produced. Many Donald Duck watches had Mickey Mouse charms on the watch band. The most rare proved to be those with Donald Duck charms which this example has. Crystal has dulled but know the face is bright white, both hour and minute hands move smoothly. But the watch itself needs servicing.
This watch has sold in auction regularly for several thousands of dollars when the vintage Mickey Mouse watch craze swept collectors in the 1990s. It's not uncommon to see them listed today at double the price of an original Mickey.
