Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, Jiajing Blue and white Cranes garlic bottle vase. Potted in garlic bottle vase, bulbous lower belly, thick, rounded shoulder, long cylindrical neck, enlarge onion head shape, short open lip, raised on short small ring, with slight concaved foot base. This bowl in blue and white fine color, is an excellent object on exterior with several flying cranes through ruyi clouds and vapors. The crane symbolizes longevity as well as wisdom. It is fabled that when a crane reaches 600 years old it no longer needs to eat. It stands as a homophone for he peace, harmony. A crane is often portrayed with a tortoise longevity or a deer longevity and riches. A stork often accompanies the Queen Mother of the West. The shape is regular, the craftsmanship is excellent, the style is solemn and elegant, and it is not limited to small details. It is a fine work.
The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed with double fine blue ring lines. Made In The Years of Jiajing Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
