A Magnificent Baule Gold Pendant Ivory Coast, late 19th - early 20th century A male head with finely detailed, delicate facial features, eyes and mouth slightly open, textured eyebrows and hairline down to pointed beard. Mustache and part of beard in tight coils, hairdo in many vertical coils with a braid connecting them at top. Raised scarification marks on temples and between eyes. Two loops at back for suspension. In very good condition, hairline crack at suspension loops, casting flaw repaired on forehead. Hollow cast in high content gold alloy.
