Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Tairona, ca. 1000 to 1500 CE. A lovely necklace from the ancient Tairona culture strung with 9 smoky gray chalcedony tubes and 10 greenstone beads of discoid or oblong forms. Suspended in the middle of the composition is a trapezoidal greenstone pendant with traces of red pigment on one side, perhaps cinnabar, and a biconical suspension hole drilled laterally through the body. Size (necklace): 29.75" L (75.6 cm); (largest bead): 3.29" L x 0.42" W (8.4 cm x 1.1 cm)

Wearable as shown and strung in modern times. Stone beads are ancient; metal stringing is modern. Minor abrasions and chips to some beads, with light clouding to some chalcedony tubes, otherwise intact and very good. Nice surface smoothness to most beads.
