Bronze sculpture. Signed and dated 1941 on the base. Made between 1940 and 1941. Total measurements: 14 x 5,5 x 5,5 cm.
Marked "FundiciÃ³n Bechini". Cast in the 1940s.
This piece appears reproduced in "Manolo" by Montserrat Blanch, figure 236 on page 129.
As Blanch states in his book, the sculptor achieves a "perfect balance", especially if we compare it with the watercolour he had done as a study (fig. 235) previously. In addition, "to compensate and support the child's body [...], Manolo arranged a prominent area where the arm and the shawl that covers it merge with the mother's belly", managing to create a greater compositional bond between mother and son.
