AFTER MARCELLUS LAROON THE ELDER (DUTCH 1653-1702) OIL ON CANVAS, C. 1840, H 13", W 17", THE USURER 19th-century painting after Marcellus Laroon the Elder. Depicting a usurer with an accounting book and a young noble lady taking out a loan against her pearls.

Condition

Original canvas and stretcher. 19th-century patch with corresponding restoration at the male figure's hands. Over painting over the original varnish, mostly relegated to the background. Stretcher impressions.
