Assembled set of (3) similar dining armchairs of the William and Mary period, with dramatic high backs, ornately carved crest rails and stretchers, scrolled handrests and lace-caned seats and backrests. One chair with old black paint. Dimensions: (Tallest) 57" x W 25" x D 24" x SH (without cushion) 16" Condition: Normal antique patina and wear; a few chips and small losses to carving, some worming to wood, evidence of prior restoration work including re-caning (seats of the taller two chairs have been rebuilt with newer side rails), repairs, and possible replacements to stretchers. Soiling and wear to cushions.
