The double gourd shaped ewer with the lower globular section surmounted by a cylinder supporting a smaller globe with a cone-shaped lid, moulded spout and ear-shaped handle, the white and brown slip inlaid decoration reserved on a céladon glaze consisting of circular medallions with flowers and stylized vegetal motifs.22 x 17 x 13 cmProvenance: Italian private collection, acquired in Korea in the 1960s.This ewer faithfully reproduces a well-known item from the Goryeo period in the National Museum of Korea in Seoul (see La Terre, le Feu, l'Esprit. Chef-d'oeuvre de la Céramique Coréenne, exhibition catalogue, Paris 2016, p. 99, no. 63).
