The painting depicting in the center Shrinathji, the avatar of Krishna of only seven years, flanked by two couples of dancers, in the lower side a peacock and on both sides two couples of cows, the setting consisting of a sky with moon and stars, trees and palms and below lotus flowers; metal frame.145 x 95 cm (with frame)Provenance: Italian private collection.This kind of painting was usually hung in temples for devotional purposes. It was very popular in the Rajasthan region, and in particular at the Shrinathji temple in Nathdawara.
