Organized chronologically by various series including: "Prints of the Early Days," "Travel Souvenirs First/Second Series," "Twelve Scenes of Tokyo," "Twenty Views of Tokyo," "Selected Views of the Tokaido," "Collection of Landscapes of Eastern (and Western) Japan," "One Hundred Views of Modern Tokyo," and other works. Profusely illustrated with 273 full color plates, plus 18 watercolors and sketches--all plates titled and dated in both English and Japanese. (9 page Intro in Japanese text only.) Contains many of Hasui's finest woodblock prints--including a number of his rare pre-Earthquake prints. Also includes several early watercolors, sketches, prints in progress, and variant states. Profusely illustrated well over 300 full color plates. Largely in Japanese (some plates also in English). (7-page biography, with 7 photos of Hasui, in Japanese text only.)
