Description
Ink and pigments on paper, with canvas frame. It represents a mountainous landscape with trees, a temple, a river with a bridge and a house. In this landscape, two characters come to visit another.
In the upper left corner there is a text written in ink. The text indicates the title (visiting friends), the time (October 10, 1774 Qianlong era) and the author(Painted by Huang Qin). It is followed by a seal corresponding to Huang Qin, a prominent landscape painter of the Qing dynasty. At the bottom of the painting are two seals. One located on the left margin and another on the right. During Qing, literary paintings were popular and landscape paintings made freehand with water and ink flourished.
