A pair of Chelsea figures of a Monk and Nun, circa 1755
Seated on studded stools, their costumes picked out in brown and black, the monk reading from the Holy Bible resting on his raised right knee and held in both hands, the nun also reading the Bible held open at the Book of Psalms and supported by her left arm, the flat bases curved at the front and applied with flowers, 13.8cm and 13.2cm high, red anchor mark (2)
