Description
A Chinese hardwood ruyi with 3 jade insets dating from the 19th century. The carved jade insets depict the 8 Buddhist emblems.
Dimensions are: 3/4 inches tall X 5 inches wide X 19 inches long, 1.9 cm X 12.7 cm X 48.26 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Provenance: From Mrs. Kittelberger in northern Maryland. Collected by her late husband prior to the 1980s.
Condition: Areas of significant breakage and repair to the hardwood including resetting the jade plaques, the jades are in good condition.
