The hollow terra cotta head fragment with bitumen coating is separated from a larger figure of perhaps a warrior.
Carving measures 8.75 x 7 x 5 inches without stand.
Provenance: The collection of artist Abe Rothstein, founder of Horizon Gallery, Rockport and Newton Center Massachusetts circa 1965 -1980. The gallery offered fine art, mostly from local artists, but also material similar to that being offered here.
