A COLLECTION WITH 159 !! BEADS AND SEALS
Indus Valley, Ancient Region of Gandhara, Bactria and China, 3rd-2nd Millennium BC and later. The lot comprising beads and seals of different shapes, including stamp seals, round, and cylinder beads showing a variety of materials: lapis lazuli, stone, turquoise, carnelian, rock crystal and other gemstones. Some with characters or mythological beasts engraved. Some pieces with a drilling.
Condition: Good condition commensurate with age, with usual traces of wear and age.
Provenance: Ex-Collection of The Zelnik Istvan Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. Istvan Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
