Description
A group of two etchings on paper, one depicting a fox hunting scene, the other a steeplechase event. Early 20th century. Each signed, one indicated as a third trial proof, the others first trial proof. Note: Paul Desmond Brown was a self-trained artist, primarily working as an illustrator for magazines, periodicals, and advertising. He made illustrations for Brooks Brothers and Polo magazine. One of his illustrations was featured on the cover of Time Magazine in March 1929, and made significant contributions to books published by the Derrydale Press

Condition
Scattered minor foxing, light soiling, toning. The steeplechase scene with a small water stain at upper right. The etching portion of the hunt scene is seperating from the margin art the left edge. Edgewear, old hinging marks, the steeplechase scene with inscriptions and pinhole punctures in the margin.
