19th century Southern miniature portrait on porcelain depicting a young dark-haired female attired in a bright blue off-the-shoulder dress and pink wrap, seated next to a table with a floral centerpiece and drapery to the left background. Family history identifies the subject as Elizabeth "Betsey" Darnaby Clark of central Kentucky, wife of Willam Clark (1799-1879, Kentucky). Painted on a German porcelain blank having an impressed bird mark en verso, possibly for Charlottenburg, Berlin, together with a "P" and "4". Housed in a gilt carved rococo style frame. Plaque measures: 5" H x 4" W. Framed: 8 3/8" H x 7 5/8" W. 19th century.

Portrait plaque overall very good condition with minute wear. Frame with some wood shrinkage and losses to both lower corners, likely later added paint, minor scattered abrasions to the paint.
