Antique c1880s Touching Star quilt measuring 83 x 95 inches. Comprised of 12 stars, set 3 x 4, with white setting squares and triangles. There is a 5.5 inch outer border of appliqued swag and tassel with an additional 4 inch plain inner border on two sides. It is hand pieced, hand appliqued, and expertly hand quilted in very tiny stitches. Thin cotton batting, white cotton reverse, and a .25 inch applied binding. There are two corner cutouts along the bottom for a poster bed. In fair condition with several spots and discolorations, and fabric deterioration.
