A VICTORIAN DIAMOND IVY BROOCH CIRCA 1880The ivy leaves pavé set with old mine cut diamonds, with cut down collet old mine cut diamonds on bars between, approximately 2.85 carats, numbered 756, with a later brooch fitting, in a fitted blue caseSize/dimensions: 5.2cm longGross weight: 12.8 gramsIn Victorian floriography ivy is symbolic of fidelity.
Condition
The brooch fitting is later, there is an original screw hole to the back of the setting. There are adaptions to the brooch, possible replacements of settings, only noticeable from the back. The broch is numbered in two places on a leaf and a cut down collet setting. The brooch clasp has a French eagles head mark
