American Outsider Art Wilbur Rowlands. Active Mid 20th Century. Carved and painted wood Black figures of a woman, holding a rolling pin, chasing after a man, running away from her. She: dressed in off white blouse with lace Bertha collar and sleeves; over lace net apron, over blue windowpane checked skirt, with lace frill, barefoot. Her right arm holding the rolling pin (broken and present), her left artm out. F He: dressed in off white canvas button down shirt, with one-button green cans overalls and black boots . RIght leg and left arm bent to run. Both figures with black wool hair, caraciatures of black features to their faces. Both on painted log slices. On her base: WR in yellow paint. Maryland. Mid 20th Century. {Approximate dimensions 26" and 30" H. overall.}. Condition: The basic condition of the figures is good. The rolling pin broken off and present. Possible loss of another implement, such as a knife.
