Edith Marcus 1888 - 1941 Riga Painter in Hamburg; studied with Arthur Kampf in Berlin; further study trips to Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Italy and Paris; Member of the Hamburg Artists' Association; presented among other things in the Commeter gallery; was expelled from the Reich Chamber of Culture in 1938 as a Jew; was involved in the Jewish Cultural Association in Hamburg; was murdered in 1942 by the National Socialists in the Jungfernhof concentration camp near Riga.
