WILLIAM AIKEN WALKER (AMERICAN, 1839-1921) PORTRAIT OF A MAN, oil on board, a rare New Orleans scene, featuring full-length depiction of African-American subject in tattered clothes, cotton bales and a paddle wheeler steam ship in the background, signed lower left and inscribed in pencil, likely in the artist's hand, verso "6 x 12 / Levee / N. O". Housed in a modern gilt frame. Circa 1880. 5 1/2" x 11 1/2" sight, 17 1/2" x 11 1/2" OA.
