Exceedingly Rare Miniature Swimming Goose Decoy
A. Elmer Crowell (1862-1952)
East Harwich, MA, c. 1920
6 3/4 in. long
This rare carving is among Crowell's finest miniature efforts. Regarding its rarity, there are few, if any, known Crowell swimming geese at any scale. This special work was finished with carved tail feathers, glass eyes, and very fine blended paint.
Original paint with light wear and very minor touch-up at neck seam.
