FABERGE - ANTIQUE RUSSIAN SILVER TABLE NOTEBOOK
An early 20th-century Russian table notebook with a silver lid and a rectangular onyx stand.
The lid is inlaid with cabochons of crimson color and decorated with an engraving with monograms and a relief plate depicting intertwining leaves and a snake bent over a bowl.
The crossbar mount is decorated with blue cabochons at both ends. There are traces of gilding.
This green onyx stand is mounted on four silver legs in the shape of lion paws.
HALLMARKS: 'FABERGE' in Cyrillic and '84' silver warrant.
CONDITION: Magnificent Russian. Very good, no chips or cracks. The item is described to the best of our knowledge. Please refer to pictures and email with any questions.
DIMENSIONS: 8 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches (22.5 x 14 cm). Very Heavy. Total weight: 2,010 grams.

HISTORY: A variety of marks can be seen on works by FABERGE, associated with the different branches of the firm. For example, works from St. Petersburg are marked 'FABERGE' in Cyrillic, while Moscow pieces are marked 'K. FABERGE' in Cyrillic and include the double-headed eagle of the imperial warrant. Objects that were produced for the London branch were hallmarked with 'FABERGE' in Latin. The House of FABERGE had a number of workshops, including Moscow, St. Petersburg and Odessa, each supervised by a workmaster such as Michael Perchin, Erik Kollin, Henrik Wigstrom, August Holmstrom and Julius Rappoport. The city and assay marks on a piece should always be consistent with the workmaster's initials.
