Twelve Egyptian scarabs
Middle Kingdom-Late Period, circa 1981-525 B.C.
Two carnelian scarabs one plain the other with flower design, 15mm max; a green glazed steatite amulet with rampaging lion and ankh sign 22mm; a green glazed steatite scarab with Tuthmosis III cartouche, Menkheper[re], flanked by maat feathers 20mm; a green glazed steatite scarab with the Crown of Lower Egypt, uraeus, ankh and nefer over neb sign, 19mm; a green glazed steatite scarab with cartouche for Tuthmosis III, flanked by scrolls and nefer signs, 19mm; a steatite scarab with central papyrus clumps below the sign for the title of the King of Upper and Lower Egypt, 17mm; a small green glazed steatite scarab with a papyrus clump over a neb sign, 13mm; a green glazed steatite scarab with two opposed loops, 17mm; a small turquoise glazed scarab, Amun, 7mm; a feldspar scarab with three hieroglyphs: 'Bastet smites fear', 18mm; a green glazed scarab with bird, Levant, late 2nd Millennium B.C., 18mm, and six later scarabs, Not Ancient (18)
