An Amlash terracotta horse rhyton
North West Iran, circa 8th-7th Century B.C.
With an arching neck and head, the swollen body with tapering legs, the tail looped forward to create a ring handle behind a circular aperture emerging from the animal's back, a short pouring spout between the forelegs, the sides of the body, mane, and face with incised lines, concentric circle eyes and applied ears, 37cm high
