A Corinthian pottery aryballos
Circa early 6th Century B.C.
The body with the winged figure of Pegasus leaping to the left, rosettes in the field, concentric rings on the everted rim and around the base, details incised with highlights in added red, 7.3cm high

Condition
There is a chip to the side of the rim. There is wear to the concentric decoration around the rim. There is some chipping and wear to the body, including a chip above a rosette in front of the horse's head, with perhaps some levelling to the surface in the same area. The decoration and incised work of the Pegasus is in good preservation with some minor flaking and wear to the colours. There is some mis-firing to the umber slip towards the base. The central part of the base is restored with two over-painted central rings.
