Large vase with handles ''Saphir, 10 pulled out handles'' Michael Powolny (design), Loetz Wwe., Klostermühle, 1918, commissioned by J.& L. Lobmeyr, Vienna Blue glass, blown into the mold. Ten handles pulled out from the body of the vase. H. 23 cm. Lit: Lötz - Bohemian Glass 1880-1940, vol. 1, fig. 352 & vol. 2, catalog of pattern cuts, 1989, p. 238 with production number 935. ''With the motif of decorative handles pulled out of the body of the vase, he revived the technique masterfully mastered in the glassworks already since the beginning of the century (...).'' (Lötz - Bohemian Glass 1880-1940, vol. 1, 1989, p. 287) This type of vase was shown in the exhibition 'Österreichisches Kunstgewerbe' in Vienna in 1919/20. This vase was made in at least four sizes (A. Adlerova still assumes three sizes), different colors, sometimes in two-color combination. (Lötz, vol. 1, 1989, p. 287)
