Photographer: Robert Doisneau (French, 1912 - 1994) - a world-renowned photographic artist who along with Henri Cartier-Bresson was considered a major pioneer of photojournalism. Doisneau was best known for his street photography of everyday people and eccentrics in and about Paris streets and cafes. Children at play were also a favorite subject for Doisneau who was influenced by the work of both Eugene Atget and Andre Kertesz. Today Doisneau's work is held in important collections throughout the world.
