A George IV silver and silver-gilt figural centrepiece
Robert Garrard, London 1823 / 1824, and part marks for Paul Storr
Triform base with cast borders of flowers and three acanthus and shell bracket feet, each side engraved with identical armorials for BRIDGEMAN, the silver-gilt stem formed of a lion and two putti supporting a screw-on wire-work basket with borders of fruiting vines, height 36.5cm, weight 121oz.

The arms are those of Orlando BRIDGEMAN (1762-1825) of Weston Park, Shropshire, later 2nd Baron Bradford (1800), 1st Viscount Newport (1815) and 1st Earl of Bradford (1815), who was the third surviving son and heir of Henry BRIDGEMAN (1725-1800) 1st Baron Bradford by Elizabeth SIMPSON. In 1788 he married Lady Elizabeth BYNG (1760-1844) eldest daughter and co-heir of George BYNG (1740-1812), 4th Viscount Torrington by Lady Lucy BOYLE daughter of John BOYLE (1707-1762), 5th Earl of Co. Cork. He was educated at Harrow School, London and at Trinity College, Cambridge, and an MP for Wigan after which, at his father's death in 1800, he became a member of the House of Lords.

The figures and support are part-marked for Paul Storr, with duty mark and lion passant. The base and basket are marked for Robert Garrard, 1824 and 1823 respectively, also stamped 'Garrards Panton Street London'
