Tulis Batik Shoulder Cloth With Chinese Motif, Indonesia, Early 20th C. Shoulder cloth of commercial cotton tabby cloth with patterning in handdrawn (tulis) wax resist (batik) in a pattern of phoenix and other beneficent Chinese symbols on a ground of fish-scale or 'woven' pattern of deep blue and white. C. 1930. Size: 7'3'' x 2'11'' (221 x 89 cm). Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection.
