Woman writer.- [La Roche-Guilhem (Anne de, attributed to)] Zingis: a Tartarian history. Written in Spanish, and translated into English, translated by J.M., title lower corner torn (with loss to imprint) and detached, now tipped-on to A2 with tape, G1 short tear at foot, without loss of text, G7 upper corner torn with loss of text, G8 smaller part of upper corner torn with loss of part of pagination, some soiling (including title), stained, lightly browned throughout, contemporary sheep, spine in compartments and with modern red leather label and remains of gilt date at foot, lower joint splitting, but holding firm, spine ends and corners worn, chipped, rubbed, [Wing L450], 8vo, Printed for Francis Saunders in the New Exchange, and Richard Parker at the Royal Exchange, 1692.
⁂ Rare in commerce. The author emigrated to England upon the revocation of the Edict of Nantes. As well as translating Spanish works she wrote her own material.
