Marco Dente ("da Ravenna", fl. 1515-1527)

cf. Bartsch 246
Provenance:
Alfred Morrison (1821-1897) [Lugt 151]
⁂ After an engraving by Marcantonio Raimondi, inspired by Raphael. Deliberately intended to deceive, which it did for centuries, the present engraving was presumed to by Raimondi until Bartsch confirmed it was from a separate plate entirely.
