Description
Ca. 1-200 AD A bronze applique in a form of a female theatrical mask. The face with large glass inlaid eyes, parted lips, and arching brows. Her hair in locks aside and a high propoloma crowning her head. Hollow to the underside. For similar applique see Rolland, H., Bronzes Antiques de Haute Provence, Paris, 1965, item 354. Size: L:41.1mm / W:38.6mm ; 29g Provenance: Private UK collection; from an old London collection formed in the 1980s.
