50 Jars of Plant, Seed & Herb Specimens, Herbarium. Wonderful historical 19th or early 20th century collection of plant specimens in resin cylinder jars. Almost all labeled with Latin names, botanical names, genus and location. Including, but not limited to: Cassia buds, Marjoram, Senega root, White Hellebore rhizome, Matico pepper, Yellow pheasants eye and so on. All labels are marked "E.Merck Darmstadt." Emmanuel Merck was a 19th century German scientist and pharmacist, ancestor to what is now known as the Merck Group.

Dimensions for small jars are 4.75 are in h x 1.5 in w x 1.5 in d. Dimensions for large jars are 10 in h x 2.75 in w x 2.75 in d. Condition is good/as is. Some lids are cracked and damaged and jars are not properly sealed. Some jars have been emptied out a bit. Labels are discolored and occasionally torn off.
