Notes: There is an unsigned, undated, red India ink sketch of an owl on a branch on the verso of the sheet with the ink study of Demetra.

Condition

Condition: Condition of the Painting: Visual: Good condition. Dust accumulation commensurate with age. Occasional small areas of unobtrusive paint shrinkage.

Blacklight: Scattered touch-ups throughout, including in the figure's chin and left eye. Difficult to read under varnish.

Condition of the Drawing: Good condition. The left sheet edge deckled. Slight surface soiling commensurate with age, recto and verso. An occasional soft and unobtrusive handling mark near the sheet edges, visible only in raking light. A 1" horizontal tear in the lower portion of the left sheet edge, not affecting the image. There is an additional India ink drawing, unsigned, untitled and undated, on the verso of this sheet. Not examined out of the double-sided frame.
