A continental violin, A continental violin, probably German circa 1900, spuriously labelled 'Jacobus Stainer in Absam, prope oenipontum 1701', of dark brown colour with chequered edge binding and a lion carved pegbox, the one-piece back of medium curl measuring 360cm high complete in a fitted case with two bows, one marked Czechoslovakia and the other unmarked Condition Report: Surface scratches and knocks, signs of an old repair to the side, losses to the binding and a split to the back.
