Description
Circa 1950s American Airlines DC-6 or DC-7 promotional desk model. The DC-6 and DC-7 aircraft are very similar, as the DC-7 is merely a stretched DC-6 with 4 blade props and retaining all aerodynamic and structural features. These aircraft were used extensively throughout the 1950s-1960s by major airlines including American Airlines, who operated a majority of these aircraft. Constructed of aluminum, the model is painted and decaled with standard 1950s American Airlines colors and logs. The N-Number "NC60000" is decaled on the tail and wing. Underside of the fuselage is marked "352". The model measures approximately 14" tall when straightened with a 27 - 1/2" wingspan. Complete with aluminum black stand. The decals exhibit areas of peeling and cracking, but most remain legible. Colors remain vibrant with scattered fading. slightly rough texture. Scattered scratches throughout the wings and fuselage. The model and base wobble when handled. Missing all 4 propellers. Condition: (Good). Dimensions: 23" x 28" x 14".
