Description
William Haskell Coffin (American, 1878-1941). Original lithograph on paper poster titled "Joan of Arc Saved France" depicting an armored and sword-wielding Joan of Arc on a blue background, issued to promote savings stamps during World War I. Additional captions read "Women of America Save Your Country Buy War Savings Stamps." A seal along the lower right corner reads "The United States Printing & Lithograph Co" and a seal along the lower left reads "Torch of Liberty W.S.S. War Savings Stamps issued by the United States Government." Signed in plate along the lower left.
