An Italian Rococo style polychrome decorated secretaire bookcase
composed of antique and later elements
The upper section with a pair of doors enclosing a pair of shelves above a fall front enclosing a configuration of pigeon holes and drawers.

Sold Bonhams & Butterfields, Los Angeles, 12 September 2005, lot 357.
Property from a private collection, Pacific Palisades, California.

Condition

Structurally sound. Top of lower section decorated. General marks, nicks, scratches, rubbing, cracks and wear. Refreshments to decoration. Notable jagged overpainted gouge to right side of fall front near top. Shrinkage cracks to lower section. With losses to surface decoration in areas. Upper section with hole to lower center of back for electrical wires. Dirt accumulation. No key.
