Late 18th, early 19th century New England. This is a truly fine example of Chippendale country furniture. The single board top has an applied molding and the rectangular case is fitted with four graduated long pine drawers; each drawer fitted with later 19th century turned walnut or mahogany wood knobs. The chest has a molded base and is raised on shaped bracket feet with scalloped returns. The entire case is of hand dovetailed construction. SIZE: 36” h x 40” w x 19” d. Condition: CONDITION: Small sliver of wood missing on the proper right front corner of the case alongside the bottom drawer, otherwise good.
