Description
Picasso's linocuts are the product of the collaboration with the Louise Leiris Gallery in Paris (a historic gallery founded by Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler in 1920r). Pablo Picasso had been fascinated by this new artistic technique, which he found extremely stimulating, and between 1958 and 1961 he developed a series of linocuts that were produced in signed and numbered editions in 1/50 editions. In 1962 both Leiris gallery and Picasso decided to publish a further edition of the linocuts in a format of 42 percent of the original size and these linocuts were produced within this second printing.
